Sample gas cooler minimises washout effects in extractive gas analysis
The gas coolers of the TC-Double+ series are designed in such a way that the wash-out effects, e.g. of SO2, can be reduced to a tolerable minimum according to EN 15267 Part 3. This method efficiently uses the thermal energy contained in the sample gas on the one hand and electrical energy supplied from outside on the other hand to gently convert the moisture into condensate in two separate heat exchangers by reducing the dew point. The two heat exchangers, through which the sample gas is cascaded, are each inserted into an independent cooling block. Both cooling blocks are cooled by half-emitter (Peltier) cooling elements.

The cooler has a very compact design and is housed in a corrosion-resistant stainless steel casing. The heat exchangers are available in PVDF and glass and can thus be adapted to a wide range of applications. They are extremely easy to access for maintenance without dismantling the cooler. The gas cooler can be optionally equipped with additional devices such as a humidity sensor, particle filter and condensate pump.
The cooling capacity is up to 140 kJ/h at a maximum flow rate of 250 Nl/h. The output dew point is factory-set to 5°C and is stabilised to 0.1°C. The permissible ambient temperature of 60°C allows the sample gas cooler to be used in almost all climatic zones. The display shows the block temperature in °C or °F and the status on request. Alarm thresholds and dew point can be individually programmed in the control unit if required. The sample gas feed pump can be switched via the status output when the operating temperature is reached.
